Shiri holds a PhD from Princeton University’s program in Science, Technology, and Environmental Policy and a ScB in Geological Sciences from Brown University.
Shiri Avnery is President and Co-Founder of Thistle.
Inspired by an adventurous spelunking trip in 8th grade, Shiri pursued her passion for the environment throughout her academic career.
She earned a B.Sc. from Brown University and a Ph.D. from Princeton University, where her research focused on the intersection of global agriculture and our environment. Recognizing the urgent need to transform our food system, she co-founded Thistle to make it deliciously easy to follow a healthy, plant-forward diet to improve personal and planetary health.
Outside of work, she enjoys surfing, mountain biking, yoga, coaching soccer, and spending time with her 8-year-old daughter.
